📋 Overview

PingLossMap ("the App") is a network quality monitoring application developed by Amir Nurgozhin. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

📍 Location Data

The App requests access to your device's precise location (GPS) for the following purpose only:

• To tag each network measurement with GPS coordinates
• To display measurements on an interactive map
• To generate heatmaps of network quality in your area

Location data is processed locally on your device only. It is never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party.

When GPS signal is unavailable (indoors), the App may use Wi-Fi or cellular network positioning as a fallback. This is handled entirely by Android's built-in location services and follows the same privacy rules — data stays on your device.

💾 Data Storage

Measurement data (ping, packet loss, GPS coordinates) is saved exclusively to:

These files (CSV and GeoJSON format) are stored locally on your device. You have full control over them — you can view, share, or delete them at any time using the DELETE button inside the App or your device's file manager.

🌎 Network Access

The App connects to the IP address or domain you manually enter in order to measure TCP ping latency and packet loss. This is the core functionality of the App.

The App does not make any background network requests unrelated to measurements. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs are included.

💳 Purchases (PRO version)

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase to unlock PRO features. All purchase transactions are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store any payment information. For questions about payments, refer to Google Play's policies.

🚫 What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifiers
• We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs
• We do not track your usage behavior
• We do not share any data with third parties
• We do not upload your location or measurement data to any server

🔒 Permissions Used

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION — GPS coordinates for map tagging
• ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — Wi-Fi/cell fallback when GPS unavailable
• INTERNET — TCP ping measurements to user-specified hosts
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE — Background data collection while screen is off
• WAKE_LOCK — Prevents device sleep during active collection
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Status notification during data collection

👤 Children's Privacy

This App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

✏️ Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
